Location: Melbourne
Dates: 15–25 May 2025
Melbourne Design Week 2025, running from 15 to 25 May, is Australia’s leading annual international design event. The 11-day program encompasses talks, tours, exhibitions, launches, installations, and workshops, celebrating and interrogating design across multiple disciplines, including communication design, industrial design, service design, gaming, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, fashion, craft, and functional art.
Under the enduring theme ‘Design the World You Want,’ the 2025 edition invites designers, architects, and creatives to explore design’s capacity to transform existing paradigms and create a better future. Participants are encouraged to present projects that offer solutions to economic, social, and ecological challenges, highlighting design as an act of repair and transformation.
The program is held across various venues in Melbourne and regional Victoria, including cultural institutions, studios, retail spaces, universities, galleries, gardens, and public spaces. It provides a platform for designers, educators, businesses, and the community to come together to share ideas, showcase new work, and consider how design can be used as a force for good in an increasingly complex world.
