Job Satisfaction

Confidence is up, with job satisfaction improving nationwide. Brisbane leads, while Melbourne lags. Heavy workloads persist, but Sydney professionals feel more supported.

Salary trends

Salaries are rising again, especially in Sydney and Brisbane. Satisfaction remains modest but is well above 2021 levels.

The shift in hybrid working

In-office days are increasing, especially in Sydney. Australians are in the office more than peers overseas, and many prefer it that way.

Employee motivations

Work-life balance now outranks salary. Today’s workforce wants purpose, progression and flexibility, and they’re prepared to move to get it.

Workplace wellbeing

Sydney scores highest for feeling valued and mental health support. Melbourne ranks best for career progression but lower for satisfaction. Brisbane shows consistent results, but mental health support trails.

The gender pay gap

The pay gap sits at 20.6% - nearly three times that of the UK and US. Brisbane shows the biggest gap. Women hold just 37% of leadership roles, with Sydney showing the largest imbalance.
