MSDx Summer 2024
Over two weeks this summer, the University of Melbourne’s iconic Glyn Davis Building will become a hub of creativity, showcasing one of Australia’s largest design exhibitions.
Location: Melbourne
Dates: 22 Nov – 6 Dec 2024. Open weekdays, 8am – 7pm
MSDx invites attendees to explore the future of the built environment through a vibrant collection of student work, including installations, models, drawings, and video presentations.
This expansive exhibition highlights the innovative perspectives of students across key disciplines such as architecture, urban design, urban planning, construction, and landscape architecture. From the basement to the rooftop, the building will be transformed into a gallery of forward-thinking ideas that reimagine how we design and experience the spaces around us.
The event opens with a traditional Smoking Ceremony, followed by a range of activations, workshops, and short talks at the Speakers Corner, where students and researchers will share insights in 10-minute sessions. Meanwhile, designX will take over the basement, showcasing more than 700 capstone projects by graduating Bachelor of Design students—an inspiring culmination of their academic journey.
In addition to the exhibitions, the event offers food trucks, drinks, and live music, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for visitors to connect with emerging talent.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to meet the next generation of designers, planners, and builders whose work is redefining how we understand the built environment and the forces shaping it.
