Design Leader for High-end Multi Residential

About this role

A boutique mid sized practice in Sydney is seeking a talented design architect to work alongside Directors. Confidence presenting to clients and managing consultants. Excellent communication, documentation and visual skills. This is a great opportunity to join a thriving creative fast-paced practice and work on high quality Residential projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Early design work of local and international projects  
• Overview and contribute to the design direction of the practice
• Shepherding the design concept through the various planning, approval and documentation phases of a project.
• Assist and contribute to the evolving design strategy of the practice.
• Ability to apply creative and strategic thinking, theory and experience
• Facilitating and directing high-quality presentations of professional standards to communicate concepts to stakeholder groups, including Council and Design Panels
• Local multi-res experience coming from similar design focus practice
• Hands-on with the ability to come up with sketch direction for feasibility/ concept for potential sites
• Input in Management decisions and Business Development 
• Knowledge of the methods and techniques of using 3D design and conceptual tools to create concepts (SketchUp and preferably ArchiCAD - but not essential if they can use SketchUp as the key design tools we don’t want this to limits the pool of suitable candidates)
• Results-driven and have the ability to work under pressure 
• Mentor junior team members on design development and act as a positive role-model to others in support of the team 
• Be able to communicate a company design strategy
• Build strong rapport with clients, consultants and team members
• Collaborate with design team 

Skills & Experience

• Relevant architectural qualifications and working rights 
• Registered Architect
• Proven local experience working on relevant projects including Multi-residential
• Ability to review, analyse, and make recommendations regarding designs, plans and specifications
• Advanced knowledge of all applicable codes and regulatory agency guidelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Advanced ArchiCAD / revit knowledge
• Strong understanding of the ADG and local codes
• Excellent communication skills
• Past experience on latter stages of documentation and detailing valued
