Senior Architect - Facade

About this role

A Senior Architect is responsible for facilitating design of the highest quality and contributing to outstanding project outcomes. This role provides ample scope to explore design options and collaborate closely with the design Directors. There are opportunities to work across multiple phases of design from inception through to visual mock up inspections. Working closely and collaboratively with key design engineers and specialist façade contractors. The candidate will have extensive experience in project work both in design and detailing. Provide support across a number of projects with regard to technical design and detailing resolution, including mentoring and knowledge sharing. The candidate will have a focus on sustainability and an interest in carbon minimalisation, dematerialisation, energy efficiency, and principles of design resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the design and detail of a range of building elements both internal and external, with a focus on façade design.
• Collaborate with project Director and design team to develop, refine and enhance the façade through design and technical detailing.
• Work effectively with the façade engineer, coordinate and review 
• Present concepts and details to the client, work with client to obtain approvals and client satisfaction 
• Assist with the formulation of scope of works/services 
• Comply with regulatory and authority controls
• Participate and/or Lead Technical reviews
• Participate in studio wide knowledge sharing
• Participate in research and innovation in materials and construction techniques
• Mentor and performance manage junior team members working with you
• Proven design work on commercial or multi-residential projects in portfolio
• Produce innovate design ideas
• Provide a thorough understanding of detail design and documentation process

Skills and experience

• Experience across a range of different projects 
• Revit/ Rhino skills desirable
• A solid understanding of Australian standards and BCA’s
• Capable of working in a collaborative team environment
