About this role


One of Australia's leading suppliers to the commercial A&D sector is seeking to strengthen their operational team and are looking for a procurement specialist.

This Procurement Manager role is pivotal in managing supplier relationships,
driving strategic ordering and ensuring smooth procurement operations.

The ideal candidate for this role will be detail orientate and possess strong analytical and negotiation skills. You will be confident in managing complex supplier relationships and oversee end-to-end procurement across the company.

This role is located in Sydney's Western Suburbs.

Key responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both domestic and international suppliers
  • Analyse inventory levels and adjust forward orders to align with changing sales trends
  • Negotiate skillfully to secure favorable pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, order placement, and delivery coordination
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for production while minimizing excess stock
  • Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations and laws governing procurement, including customs and trade regulations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities and associated documentation
  • Contribute to the development of business cases for new products

Skills and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in managing and overseeing procurement processes
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to forge strong supplier relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred, not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of customs and trade regulations related to procurement
