About this role
A leading global, specialist engineering firm are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Building Code Consultant to join their team. This role will support the directors and managers within the firm. As a Building Code Consultant, you will provide expert advice on building codes and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the design and construction processes. In this role you will have a range of responsibilities and opportunities that allow you to develop professionally within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure adherence to codes.
- Assist and advise in the application of building codes to the design and development of projects.
- Prepare reports and fee proposals for clients
- Be able to offer innovative solutions to design issues not meeting codes
- Stay updated on changes in building codes and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Building Surveying or similar
- MUST have the equivalent of at least 4 years' experience in building code consulting or related field
- Have a work safety construction industry qualification (white card)
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft office (particularly Word and Excel) and Bluebeam
- C Class Driver's license
- Results Orientated, with great communication and interpersonal skills
