Senior Associate - Urban Designer
Opportunity for an Associate/ Senior Associate Urban Designer to join a national consultancy, known for their beautifully designed spaces in both the public and private sector
About this role
This Sydney Studio is currently working in multiple sectors from with private clients and state government/ local councils including: Open Space, Sporting and Recreation, Public Domain, Education, Health right through to large scale Master Planned developments throughout NSW. This studio is emerging as one of the most interesting practices for designing unique spaces in both the public and private realm.
Seeking a Senior Urban Designer with leadership skills and a passion for public space. The right person will have excellent communication and team coordination skills and have a proactive and creative drive. You will be passionate about team culture and have a keen interest in being a part of (and driving) team design charrettes, project planning workshops and team social events.
This will suit someone who is excited by great design and thrives in a team environment, is self-driven, committed and client focused. You will be able to balance priorities well and meet deadlines working within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong client relationships Focus on bids and business development Team and consultant coordination Preparation of design drawings Project contract administration Preparation of tenders, proposals, and submissions A strong desire to collaborate at all levels Work across various groups of stakeholders
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Urban Design (exposure to Architecture or Landscape Architecture beneficial) Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup Solid graphic communication skills Significant project leadership experience Proactive self-starter with interest in the industry Wide network in NSW and ability to grow this Attention to detail and delivery of quality documents and communication High level written and verbal communication skills The ability to work autonomously and within a team Great organisational and time management skills Local regional knowledge and experience
