This award-winning Architecture practice, located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD is seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer to join their residential team. 
As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing several projects concurrently through all phases, supported by a small team of associates, senior interior designers, junior designers, and technicians. 
This practice is known to "grow their own", so this is a rare opportunity to a collaborative, design-focused studio - not to be missed!

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Act as a go-to team member within the studio for specialist knowledge, protocols, and standards, actively sharing and teaching this expertise. 
  • Manage multiple specialization projects concurrently, adapting to project size and complexity.
  • Manage day-to-day human resources activities, including team dynamics, mentoring, leadership, motivation, and support for team members. 
  • Foster collaboration and unity within teams across the studio, contributing to studio culture initiatives. 
  • Support new business development initiatives and leverage existing networks to grow business in relevant sectors.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and actively pursue business opportunities  . 
  • Possess exceptional design and planning skills with a client-focused and results-driven approach.
  • Demonstrate independent project-focused leadership on complex projects or across multiple projects, ensuring consistently high standards. 
  • Capable of strategic thinking within projects and practice-wide in areas of expertise. 
  • Exhibit excellent presentation and communication skills in written, verbal, and visual formats.
  • Committed to adhering to general business principles and resolving commercial requirements promptly.
  • Experience in leading teams with specialist knowledge, and adaptability to challenging situations. 
  • Demonstrate mature interpersonal skills and self-awareness to effectively lead, motivate, and manage team members.
  • Proficient in managing stakeholders and client relationships, understanding their needs, expectations, and concerns and effectively communicating project progress 
  • Uphold company brand values, and culture, following through on commitments on time. 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures within our Quality Safety and Environment System 
Skills and Experience: 
  • Tertiary qualification in Interior Design or related discipline 
  • 7+ years of practical experience in residential design 
  • Proven experience in space planning which is commercially viable
  • Proven experience in leading projects and coordinating all design deliverables from concept through to completion
  • Ability to manage a team to deliver excellence and exceptional service 
  • Organized and able to work across multiple projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships to deliver successful design outcomes
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to report on team performance and profitability 
  • Proficient Revit skills are essential, Enscape skills are preferable
