Architect - In House role

About this role

This boutique sized developer/ builder is keen to establish an in-house design service and is looking for the right person to lead projects and grow a team. They are seeking a versatile architect keen to take on a new challenge. They work across a variety of sectors however in the short term the main focus will be boutique residential projects (luxury houses/ town houses). North side location. 

Key responsibilities

• Working on high quality residential projects from concept to completion
• Produce good quality design outcomes 
• Ensure compliance with local design codes and approval processes
• Understanding of the market cost of construction, building industry, practices, government rules & regulations
• Initially work quite autonomously but then build a team
• Ensure strong client engagement and repeat business 
• Work closely with builders and Directors to ensure programmes and budgets are successfully met

Skills and experience

• Relevant qualification in architecture (registration preferred)
• Full Australian working rights 
• Demonstrated local experience gained on high quality residential projects
• CAD Software skills
• Exposure to all phases of the architectural process
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and visually
• Good knowledge of local codes and standards, and understanding of council controls & regulations
• A keen eye for detail and professional approach to work
