Hiring in a Post-Brexit World
On February 24th, 2021, the Bespoke Careers London office hosted a webinar entitled ‘Hiring in a Post-Brexit World’. In this informative event Katy Henderson, Director at H&P Associates, talked us through the implications of Brexit on UK immigration.
The session focused on 4 key areas:
- Brexit & Implications: Covering the transitional period, the pre-settled and settled status, which documents to use as proof of residence, Right to Work checks and the various routes of entry to the UK.
- Working in the UK: The points-based system process, the difference between ‘skilled worker’ and ‘intro-company transfer’ and what classifies as a skilled worker.
- Sponsor Licence Application: How to apply for one, appointing an Authorising Officer, what the relevant supporting documents are and salary requirements.
- Compliance: Sponsorship compliance for employers, the prevention of illegal working and the penalties involved, Right to Work checks and employer responsibilities and how to check the legality of documents.
