Our client is an Australian Design House, specialising in producing end-to-end furniture solutions that are designed and manufactured in Melbourne. The Founders draw upon their respective award-winning backgrounds in Industrial Design and Visual Arts and are renowned within the Architecture & Design Industry for producing locally manufactured pieces, offering customisation and working closely with clients to accommodate needs of fabrication, texture and dimension. This blend of design elements has seen them service the commercial, hospitality and residential sectors worldwide.

As the Business Development Manager, you will work closely with Tier 1 architects, interior designers and project managers in the design/contract trade industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage key accounts, and generate sales across all areas of the Architectural and Specifier Market
  • Build a strong rapport with key commercial interior designers and premium clients
  • Solution focused sales approach, promoting a high-end, customisable and bespoke product range 
  • The pursuit and development of sales leads with the ability to close the sale
  • Fostering new and existing client relationships
  • Attending various industry and networking functions 

Skills & Experience:
  • Commercial Furniture, or related product experience 
  • A&D industry connections
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability easily build rapport
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Assertive, with a solutions based sales approach
  • A keen interest in design and broader design community
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as autonomously

She then moved product side representing a leading textile wholesaler and custom commercial furniture supplier, working directly with architects and designers. Emma loves drawing on her extensive industry experience, helping architectural and interior product suppliers to recruit salespeople, business development and support staff.
